Al-Fatah (or Fatah) is a major Palestinian political party and the largest faction within the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). It advocates for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. Fatah has historically been involved in both armed resistance and diplomatic negotiations with Israel. Itβs a key player in Palestinian politics. The party was founded by Yasser Arafat in 1959. Fatah currently controls the Palestinian National Authority in the West Bank.
