Definition
An anatropous ovule is a type of ovule that curves during development, so the micropyle ends up close to the funicle. 🌿 Think of it as an ovule that does a U-turn. It’s the most common type of ovule in flowering plants. The curvature results in the ovule being inverted. This means the micropyle (where the pollen tube enters) is near the point where the ovule attaches to the ovary. It allows for efficient fertilization. 🌸
