Anwar El-Sadat, also known as Anwar Sadat, was the former President of Egypt. He is famously remembered for his crucial role in negotiating peace between Egypt and Israel. The Camp David Accords, a peace treaty, earned him a Nobel Peace Prize (shared with Menachem Begin). This was huge. Unfortunately, this pursuit of peace was extremely controversial within his own country and the Arab world, and he was assassinated as a result. He chose a path of peace against seemingly insurmountable odds, even at his own peril. It's like choosing the pacifist ending in a video game when everyone else is gearing up for war.
