Balthazar is traditionally known as one of the Three Wise Men (or Magi) who visited Jesus after his birth, bearing gifts of frankincense. He is often depicted as a king from Africa, presenting the gift of myrrh, symbolizing mortality. Balthazar represents the gentiles or non-Jewish people recognizing Jesus as king. The story is recounted in the Gospel of Matthew. He's a figure associated with wisdom, generosity, and the celebration of Christmas. Think of him as a VIP guest at a very important baby shower.
