Definition
A bank run occurs when a large number of customers try to withdraw their money from a bank at the same time, often because they fear the bank is going to fail π. It's like a stampede at a concert, but instead of people running for the exit, they're running for their money. Unlike a normal 'bank withdrawal,' a bank run is driven by panic and can be self-fulfilling. It is scary. The collective action can actually cause the bank to collapse.
