Bast (or Bastet) was an ancient Egyptian goddess, typically depicted as a cat or a woman with a cat's head. She was the goddess of protection, pleasure, and good health. As a protector, Bast was fierce, but she was also associated with domesticity, fertility, and childbirth. Think of her like the ultimate cool aunt: protective but also super fun and life-giving. π Her worship was centered in the city of Bubastis.
