A beak is the hard, protruding mouth part of a bird π¦, turtle π’, or even a platypus. It's used for everything from cracking seeds to preening feathers. Think of it as nature's multi-tool. Unlike our mouths, beaks are usually made of keratin, the same stuff as your fingernails. Some are curved for tearing meat, others are long for probing flowers.
