A bitstock is a tool used to hold and turn a drill bit, typically a large auger bit, for boring holes in wood. It consists of a handle and a chuck, which grips the bit. It's an older type of drilling tool, largely replaced by electric drills. Think of it as the manual predecessor to power drills. It requires more physical effort. It offers greater control in certain situations. It allows for finer control of the pressure and speed.
