Definition
A blood cell is any of the cells circulating in the blood, performing specific functions. Think of them as the workhorses of your bloodstream! 🐴 The three main types are red blood cells (erythrocytes), white blood cells (leukocytes), and platelets (thrombocytes). Red blood cells carry oxygen. White blood cells fight infection. Platelets help with blood clotting. Without blood cells, we couldn't survive.
