A blood corpuscle is an older term for a blood cell, particularly a red or white blood cell. It's an outdated term, like using a floppy disk instead of a USB drive 💾. While technically synonymous with 'blood cell,' it emphasizes the cellular nature of these components. Red blood corpuscles carry oxygen. White blood corpuscles fight infection. Platelets are technically cell fragments, not corpuscles. 'Blood cell' is now the preferred term.
