Definition
Burgrass refers to any grass species that produces prickly burrs. These burrs are essentially seed-containing structures covered in spines or hooks, designed to attach to animals or clothing for dispersal. Think of it as nature's version of a sticky trap for spreading seeds. Unlike smooth grasses, burgrass can be quite annoying to encounter. The burrs cling tenaciously, making them difficult to remove. Species in the genus Cenchrus are prime examples.
