A butt joint is a simple woodworking joint where two pieces of wood are joined end-to-end without any overlapping or interlocking. It's the easiest joint to make but also one of the weakest. Imagine two LEGO bricks pushed directly against each other. It relies heavily on glue or fasteners like screws for strength. It's often used when aesthetics aren't a primary concern. It requires additional reinforcement for structural stability.
