A cargo cult is a religious practice that emerges in tribal societies after contact with more technologically advanced cultures. These cultures often observe outsiders receiving goods (cargo) they don't understand, delivered by ships or planes. The cults then develop rituals that mimic the outsiders' behavior in hopes of attracting similar riches. Imagine tribes building fake airplanes out of bamboo, believing it will summon real planes filled with goodies. It's a misunderstanding of cause and effect, fueled by a desire for prosperity. It shows how cultural misunderstandings can lead to unique religious movements. ✈️
