Definition
Chile bonito, also known as Chilean bonito or Pacific bonito, are streamlined, fast-swimming fish found in the Pacific Ocean, particularly off the coast of Chile. They are members of the tuna and mackerel family. These fish have dark stripes on their backs and a silvery belly. Think of them as the agile motorcycles of the sea – quick and maneuverable. They are active predators, feeding on smaller fish and invertebrates. Their meat is flavorful and often used in grilling, baking, and canning.
