A cirriped is an individual organism belonging to the subclass Cirripedia, commonly known as a barnacle. These creatures are mostly sessile, attaching to various surfaces in marine environments. They have a unique lifestyle, starting as free-swimming larvae before transforming into their adult form, encased in a hard shell. Think of them as the ultimate homebodies of the sea 🏡. They filter feed using specialized appendages. They're not as mobile as a crab, but they're experts at surviving in place.
