Citlaltepetl, also known as Pico de Orizaba, is a stratovolcano, the highest mountain in Mexico, and the third highest in North America. Its name comes from the Nahuatl language, meaning "Star Mountain." Rising majestically, its snow-capped peak is a prominent landmark. Unlike active volcanoes that frequently erupt, Citlaltepetl is currently dormant. Imagine it as the chill older sibling of a rowdy, erupting volcano. It's a popular destination for experienced climbers.
