The Class Gastropoda is an enormous group of mollusks characterized mainly by their asymmetrical, spiral shells. Most snails and slugs are gastropods. They have a well-defined head, complete with sensory organs. Gastropods occupy diverse habitats, from deep sea vents to arid deserts. Gastropoda is second largest class of animals after Insecta. Gastropods have different feeding habits like herbivores, carnivores, scavengers, filter feeders, and parasites.
