Definition
A "curse" is a solemn wish that harm or evil befall someone or something. It can also refer to an offensive word or phrase used to express anger or frustration. Think of a witch casting a spell or someone shouting an expletive after stubbing their toeβboth are examples of a curse. It differs from a simple expression of dislike; a curse is intended to bring about negative consequences, either through supernatural means or through the force of strong emotion. It can be both a noun and a verb.
