A depth bomb is simply another term for a depth charge. It's an anti-submarine weapon designed to explode at a specific depth underwater, used to destroy or damage submarines. Think of it as an underwater grenade, but much larger and more powerful. Its primary function is to create an underwater shockwave. Unlike a torpedo, it doesn't directly target; it's more of an area-effect weapon. It's dropped from ships or aircraft. The terms are completely interchangeable.
