Definition
The descending node is a point in space where a celestial body, like the Moon 🌙 or a planet 🪐, crosses the ecliptic (Earth's orbital plane) from north to south. Imagine the ecliptic as a flat disk, and the object's orbit as a tilted hoop; the descending node is where the hoop goes 'down' through the disk. It's the opposite of the ascending node, where the object crosses from south to north. In astrology, this node is often linked to challenges or past karma. Think of it as a cosmic intersection. It's where things change direction in orbit and supposedly, in life too. This is not to be confused with a black hole.
