'Diadromous' is a general term for fish that migrate between freshwater and saltwater at some point in their life cycle. This encompasses both anadromous and catadromous species. It's the umbrella term for fish that travel between different salinity environments. Some fish may move between freshwater and saltwater for feeding purposes. Diadromy is a complex life strategy.
