Dneprodzerzhinsk was a city in central Ukraine, now known as Kamianske πΊπ¦. It was an industrial center, particularly known for its steel production. Think of it as a place that has reinvented itself. It was renamed in 2016 as part of decommunization efforts in Ukraine. Dneprodzerzhinsk, during the Soviet era, was named after Felix Dzerzhinsky, the founder of the Soviet secret police. Its renaming reflects a change in identity and a break from its Soviet past.
