Drizzle is a light, gentle rain consisting of very small water droplets. It's often so fine that it seems to float in the air rather than fall. Drizzle is usually associated with stable atmospheric conditions and low-lying clouds. It can create a misty or foggy atmosphere, reducing visibility. While not as dramatic as a downpour, drizzle can still make surfaces wet and slippery. Think of drizzle as the atmosphere's soft, subtle way of moistening the earth.
