Definition
A *dry-wood termite* is a type of termite that lives entirely within dry wood, without requiring contact with the soil. These termites are known for their ability to survive in very low moisture conditions. They infest furniture, structural timbers, and other wooden items. Their colonies are relatively small compared to other termite species. Dry-wood termites are like the minimalists of the termite world, needing only wood to survive. They can be challenging to detect because they leave few external signs of infestation.
