Ellen Price Wood (1814–1887), also known as Mrs. Henry Wood, was a popular English novelist. She wrote sensation novels, characterized by their thrilling plots and domestic settings. Her most famous novel is 'East Lynne' (1861). Think of her as a Victorian era suspense writer. Her stories were known for their dramatic twists and emotional intensity. She captured the anxieties and concerns of middle-class Victorian society. Wood's novels were widely read and enjoyed.
