Definition
An endoparasite is a parasite that lives inside its host's body. Think of it as an unwelcome houseguest who sets up shop in your internal organs. Unlike ectoparasites, which live on the surface, endoparasites burrow within. This can include living in the intestines, blood vessels, or even inside cells. Examples include tapeworms, heartworms, and certain protozoa. They often have complex life cycles involving multiple hosts to complete their development. 🦠
