Definition
The epicentre is the point on the Earth's surface directly above the focus of an earthquake, or, more generally, the central point of any event or activity. It is the place where the effects are most intense. Think of it as ground zero. Unlike just any location, the epicentre marks the area of maximum impact or influence. Itβs the spot where everything converges. The term can be used literally for earthquakes or metaphorically for the focal point of a trend or crisis.
