Definition
The fairy swallow (*Petrochelidon ariel*) is a small Australian bird known for its distinctive mud nests built on cliffs, under bridges, and even on buildings. These nests look like gourd-shaped pendants hanging from the structure. They are social birds, often forming large colonies. Their aerial acrobatics as they hunt insects are a sight to behold. The coloration is a mix of white, rufous, and steely blue, making them quite pretty. They are often found near water sources.
