A free phagocyte is a type of immune cell, typically a macrophage or neutrophil, that circulates freely in the bloodstream and can move to sites of infection or inflammation 💪. Unlike fixed phagocytes, these cells are mobile and can travel throughout the body to seek out and destroy threats 🍔. They patrol for invaders, engulfing and digesting bacteria, viruses, and cellular debris 🛡️. They are essential for a rapid response to infections and injuries 🦠. They are the roaming defenders of your body!
