Definition
The genus Myocastor includes only one living species, the coypu (Myocastor coypus), also known as the nutria. This rodent is characterized by its semi-aquatic lifestyle, large size, and dense fur. Think of 'genus Myocastor' as a very exclusive club with only one member. It's native to South America but now found worldwide. They are considered invasive in many regions due to their impact on wetland ecosystems. Their presence can significantly alter habitats and agriculture.
