Definition
The genus Triaenodon comprises a single species, the whitetip reef shark (Triaenodon obesus). Itβs unique because it's the only member of its genus. These sharks have a distinctive appearance with slender bodies and white-tipped fins. Think of it as the lead singer of a one-hit-wonder band; it's special in its own right. Triaenodon is generally harmless to humans unless provoked.
