A glow lamp, also known as a neon lamp, is a type of lamp that produces light by exciting a gas with electricity ๐ก. Typically, it contains neon or another noble gas at low pressure. When voltage is applied, the gas glows, usually with a characteristic orange-red color. It's often used as an indicator light in electronic devices. Unlike incandescent bulbs, it produces very little heat. Think of it as a tiny, colorful signal light. It's more about indication than illumination.
