Definition
A grade point is a numerical value assigned to a letter grade in a course. 💯 It's how your school translates your letter grades (like A, B, C) into numbers, usually on a scale of 0 to 4 or 5. These points are then averaged to calculate your Grade Point Average, or GPA. The GPA is often used to determine academic standing, eligibility for scholarships, and college admissions. Each letter grade has a corresponding point value. For example, an A might be worth 4 points, a B worth 3, and so on.
