Definition
Hammerheads are a group of sharks belonging to the family Sphyrnidae, known for their distinctive hammer-shaped heads (cephalofoils). These sharks are found in warm waters around the world. Unlike other sharks with pointy noses, hammerheads stand out like a quirky fashion statement. The cephalofoil aids in sensory perception, electroreception, and maneuverability. They're active predators, feeding on fish, crustaceans, and other marine life.
