Definition
A heart specialist, or cardiologist, is a doctor who's an expert in the heart and blood vessels. They diagnose and treat heart conditions like heart disease, heart attacks, and high blood pressure. Think of them as the mechanics for your body's engine. They use tools like EKGs and echocardiograms to see what's going on. They can also prescribe medications or suggest lifestyle changes. They're not surgeons, but work with them.
