Hypentelium is a genus of freshwater fish in the sucker family Catostomidae. These fish are native to North America and are commonly known as hog suckers. They are characterized by their slender bodies and the presence of a distinct nuchal hump behind the head. Hypentelium species are found in clear, rocky streams and rivers. They feed on invertebrates and algae. Hypentelium are sensitive to habitat degradation.
