Jactation is excessive boasting or bragging about one's achievements or qualities. It’s when someone is loudly and obnoxiously promoting themselves, often exaggerating their accomplishments. Think of it as the verbal equivalent of peacocking, strutting around to show off. It can come across as arrogant and insecure, seeking validation from others. Unlike confidence, jactation is often driven by a need to impress rather than genuine self-assurance.
