Definition
The Japanese beetle (*Popillia japonica*) is an invasive species of beetle known for its destructive feeding habits. Both the adult beetles and their larvae (grubs) are pests. They feed on a wide variety of plants, including crops, ornamental plants, and lawns. Japanese beetles are easily identified by their metallic green bodies and bronze-colored wing covers. Think of them as the unwelcome guests at the garden party. They're the notorious plant-eaters of the insect world.
