Definition
Jeffrey pine is a large evergreen tree native to western North America. It's similar to ponderosa pine but has a different scent. While Ponderosas smell of vanilla, Jeffrey pines have a smell often compared to pineapple or butterscotch. They are also drought-tolerant and can live for hundreds of years. They provide habitat for wildlife and contribute to forest ecosystems. Think of them as the fragrant cousins of the ponderosa π², each with their unique aroma.
