Definition
A lackey is a person who is excessively obedient and submissive to someone in authority, often to gain favor or status. They are often seen as servile or bootlicking. Unlike a loyal assistant, a lackey is motivated by personal gain rather than genuine respect or duty. Think of them as a toady or sycophant. They are eager to please and often lack independent thought. Essentially they are people who do anything and everything for those with power.
