Wanda Landowska (1879-1959) was a Polish-French harpsichordist and pianist. She played a crucial role in reviving the harpsichord in the early 20th century. Landowska advocated for performing Baroque music on instruments similar to those for which it was written. She was known for her interpretations of Bach and other Baroque composers. She established a school of early music in France. Landowska's influence on classical music performance is still felt today. Think of her as the harpsichord's biggest cheerleader.
