Definition
Leather carp are a specific variety of common carp that have very few or no scales. They're the result of selective breeding or genetic mutation. This makes their skin smooth and leathery in appearance, hence the name. Unlike mirror carp, which have scattered large scales, leather carp are almost entirely bare. Some people find them more appealing to eat because they are easier to prepare. Others prefer the traditional scaled varieties. ๐ฝ๏ธ
