A legless lizard is exactly what it sounds like: a lizard that has either lost its legs entirely or has greatly reduced limbs, often resembling a snake. Despite their appearance, they are indeed lizards, possessing features like eyelids and external ear openings that snakes lack. They evolved to slither and burrow. Think of them as snakes' cooler, bliniking cousins. Unlike snakes, legless lizards can often detach their tails as a defense mechanism, a trick snakes can't do.
