Definition
*Lemaireocereus* is a former genus of columnar cacti, now mostly classified under other genera such as *Stenocereus*. These cacti are known for their tall, tree-like growth habit and ribbed stems. Think of them as the skyscrapers of the desert! They are native to Mexico and parts of Central America. Their imposing size and structural form make them a striking addition to desert landscapes. While the name *Lemaireocereus* is less commonly used today, it still appears in older botanical references.
