Definition
"Magnoliopsida" is a botanical name for a class of flowering plants, also known as dicotyledons or dicots 🌸. They are characterized by having two cotyledons (seed leaves) in their seeds. Think of splitting a bean in half – each half is a cotyledon. Magnoliopsida generally have net-like leaf venation, flower parts in multiples of four or five, and a vascular cambium enabling secondary growth. Many familiar plants, like roses and sunflowers, belong to this group.
