The Malpighian body, also known as the renal corpuscle, is the initial blood-filtering component of a nephron in the kidney. It's composed of a glomerulus (a network of capillaries) surrounded by Bowman's capsule. Think of it as the kidney's first line of defense against impurities! π‘οΈ Blood enters the glomerulus, and the Malpighian body filters out water, ions, and small molecules into Bowman's capsule. This filtrate then proceeds to the renal tubules for further processing. βοΈ
