Definition
Megachiroptera is one of the two suborders within the order Chiroptera (bats). These are the larger bats, often called 'megabats' or 'fruit bats.' Unlike their smaller relatives, many megachiropterans rely on sight and smell rather than echolocation to find food. They primarily eat fruits, nectar, and flowers. These bats play a vital role in seed dispersal and pollination. 🦇🌸
