Miosis refers to the constriction, or shrinking, of the pupil of the eye. 🤏 It's the opposite of mydriasis, which is pupil dilation. Miosis occurs when the muscles in the iris contract, making the pupil smaller. This reduces the amount of light entering the eye. It's a normal response to bright light. It can also be caused by certain medications or medical conditions. Consider it as your eye's automatic dimmer switch.
