"Neomys fodiens," also known as the Eurasian water shrew, is a venomous shrew found in Europe and Asia. They live near bodies of water like streams and rivers. They are excellent swimmers, using their fringed feet for propulsion. Their diet includes aquatic insects, crustaceans, and small fish. 🐟 They are characterized by their dark brown or black fur on top and white or gray fur on their underside. They are active throughout the year. They play a role in controlling invertebrate populations and are an indicator of water quality.
