An octant is one of the eight regions into which three-dimensional space is divided by three mutually perpendicular coordinate planes (think x, y, and z axes). 🧭 Just as a quadrant divides a 2D plane into four parts, an octant extends this concept into 3D. It's used to precisely locate points in space. Imagine slicing a cake into quarters, then slicing each quarter horizontally in half; you now have eight pieces, or octants. Each octant is defined by the signs (+ or -) of the x, y, and z coordinates.
